In order to attend a makeup class please email: [email protected] and Teacher Ashley will work with you to find a class time that is not too full and works for you.

Sickness Policy

All requirements are based on the PHO guidelines. Full vaccination against covid 19 is recommended for the safety of all in class but requirements for this are also based on the PHO guidelines.

If you or your child are at all sick please stay home. Given the current covid/flu/rsv risks we ask that if you have any symptoms of illness that you please do not attend classes in person. Missed classes can be made up.

Any instruments or props that are mouthed are put into a bag and teacher Ashley will sanitize them before they go back into circulation

Materials:

It’s important to know that your materials (Songbook and CD) are included as part of licensing and service fee for Music Together®. That fee is not refundable. If you do need to withdraw from the class for any reason it will be less the licensing and service fee and you will not be able to return the materials

Siblings and Other Guests:

Only registered families may attend class. If you need to bring a sibling with you to class occasionally please email: [email protected] to discuss prior so we can arrange it.

Class Closings:

In the case of inclement weather or other acts of nature, a decision about whether to hold classes will be made by 8am on the day of class. We will post pertinent information on our facebook  and Instagram pages, and will send an email to classes if class is going to be cancelled.

We recognize that it is every parent’s desire to document the activities that their children are involved in. However, in the interest of creating an environment where parents are fully engaged, we ask that videotaping or photography be kept to a minimum in class. Please use your discretion when taping or photographing and keep in mind to only document your own child/children.

Please turn off cell phones or turn option to vibrate if it’s necessary that you have it on. If you must use your phone for any reason, please step outside of the classroom to do so.

Drinking and eating should take place outside of the classroom to limit spreading of germs and in order to avoid distractions. Bottle and breast feeding during class is acceptable. We also ask that all toys be kept outside of the classroom.

CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE

  • It is completely developmentally appropriate for young children to mouth instruments. Please just make sure they get returned into your individual bag. The instructor will wash/sanitize them after class.
  • If your child is crying, use your best judgment as to if/when it may be best to take them out of the room and give them some time to calm down. It is up to you and what will work for your child
  • It is not necessary to manipulate your child’s appendages in time to the music. It is best to model for him and allow your child to react on his own.
  • Our goal for our class time is to create a complete musical immersion experience for your children. Try not to give your children verbal instruction. We ask that you model the behaviour you want from your child, and use musical ways to communicate to them (such as singing the instruction you wish to give) rather than talking.
  • Please try to keep socializing down between songs. If you are socializing, you may miss important developmental achievements of your child. Remember, our goal is a complete musical immersion experience.
  • And lastly: Have Fun!
